Scaffold Creative

Hello, I'm Joseph

I bring communications to life for a variety of cultural, educational, and third sector clients. Based in Liverpool, I provide a full creative offer that includes print design, digital media, animation, and strategic consultancy.

Experience

Where possible, I select work that has a positive social impact: Previously, I’ve produced materials that promote engagement with culture (West Cheshire Museums) , social change (Lancashire Youth Challenge) , and history (English Heritage) .

When your message goes out into the real world, it needs to be simple and engaging. I've designed and procured printed materials for arts festivals, performances, and educational campaigns.

Learning

Design and content should always work together. I can help young peple master complex topics or produce employee training materials that are a joy to use. In collaboration with clients such as English Heritage and Biffa, I've written and designed manuals, slides, multimedia assets, and workshops.

Your communications should cut through the noise, and engage audiences wherever they are. Whether on social media, at virtual events, or attached to an email, let's create something memorable.

Experiential

Messages have more power when they are experienced together. When you're working with participants, it is important that everything you do feels co-ordinated and impactful. I work hard to bring words, imagery, and bespoke materials together - producing a participant experience they won't forget.

Who Represents Me?

People's History Museum

I worked with excluded young people to create artwork for public exhibition. After delivering participation sessions, I edited and curated the final collection. This won a Partnership Award at the North West Cultural Education Awards 2018 (Curious Minds).

Craftivism campaign

A social action resource for young people, supported by Lancashire Youth Challenge and Lancaster University. I designed and produced ‘active citizenship kits’. This included craft development, content writing, and learning design, to help young people make a positive difference in their community.

The Atkinson

Working with Theatre in the Rough, I accompanied participants at a number of climate cafés and artist development sessions. Using their words, thoughts, and images I developed an animated showcase for public exhibition.
